Semi Senior Accountant

A long-established and growing accountancy practice based in West Yorkshire is currently seeking a Part-Qualified / Semi Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based role offering excellent career progression and exposure to a varied portfolio of SME clients. Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview Manage a dedicated portfolio of SME clients across various industries Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts Support senior accountants with year-end accounts and tax return preparation Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Liaise directly with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication Collaborate closely with senior team members to ensure service quality Apply strong technical knowledge alongside effective interpersonal skills Semi Senior Accountant Job Requirements Minimum of 2 years' experience within a UK-based accountancy practice Competent in preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and maintaining ledgers Familiarity with software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, and Dext Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and UK tax/VAT compliance Experience supporting year-end accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum (depending on experience) Study Support: Full ACCA study package included Flexible start/finish times Professional development and mentoring scheme Perks and rewards programme Free onsite parking Referral incentive scheme PensionBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
