Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join Tyne and Wear Fire Service on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday in Washington, Sunderland. The Role: * Assist in the management and processing of the payment of salaries for all personnel in accordance with procedures including the correct treatment of PAYE, taxable allowances, VAT etc. * Ensure that starters, leavers, transfers and changes are processed accurately and promptly, and accounted for correctly. * Be responsible for monitoring and auditing the payment of salaries for all personnel. * Effectively administer, control and monitor the Essential, Casual and Occasional Car User Schemes, and any other allowances and expenses. * Carry out periodic payroll reconciliations and controls ensuring salary adjustments and recovery are managed appropriately. * Provide general advice and guidance regarding payroll queries, by transferring complex information so that it can be understood by a variety of personnel. * Be responsible for ensuring quality of data and information within the payroll system by undertaking verification and audit exercises as required. Requirements: * Payroll experience (essential) * Experience working with SAP (desirable) * Tax/NI calculations and understanding of statutory HMRC payments * Attention to detail, efficiency and organisational skills * Ability to process bulk data on tight timescales * Report writing If this role would be of interest to you, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
