Job Description
Electrician / Electronic Technician. This is a 2nd shift position, Mon.-Fri., 3:50pm to 12:20am.
Ideal candidate will have competency in both Electrical and Electronic systems. Integral member of Maintenance team responsible to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and/or electronics components of production equipment; keep machines in operable condition. Machinery includes packaging machines, tablet presses and other production equipment. Position involves mostly electronic and electrical duties; but may also involve mechanical repairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze and troubleshoot electrical and/or electronic problems on production equipment.
- Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications.
- Work with Staff Engineer to design and implement changes to enhance production.
- Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to electronic and/or control systems; including troubleshooting.
- Ensures local, state, and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout electrical systems.
- Ensure machines guards and safety interlocks are operating properly.
- Manages and installs cables and wiring, splicing as needed.
- Use of multimeter to measure voltage, amperage, resistance, and to ring out wiring.
- Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various electronics.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule.
- Procure materials and parts necessary to make machine repairs.
- Performs safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions.
- Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue.
- Instructs employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic equipment and components.
- Develops and maintains records related to electronic and electrical equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area; promote safe working conditions.
- Perform all work in accordance with established Safety, GMP and company procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years experience electrical maintenance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Working Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to read, understand and repair parts from electrical and/or electronic blueprints and sketches.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other plant personnel
- Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification or licensure a plus.
