Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary (Personal Care & Wheelchair Support) Location: Greenwich, South East London Contract Type: Full-time | Term Time Only Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP) About the Role: A specialist Secondary SEN School in Greenwich is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025 . This is a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex physical needs , including those who require personal care and wheelchair assistance . You will be part of a caring and collaborative support team committed to helping every young person thrive both academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs Assist students with personal care , including toileting and hygiene Support students with mobility and wheelchair use , including hoisting and transfers Help implement EHCP targets and learning plans under teacher guidance Promote engagement, independence, and wellbeing in all school activities Work closely with therapists, parents, and SEN staff Requirements: Experience supporting students with PMLD or complex needs (essential) Comfortable providing personal care and mobility support Manual handling and hoist training (preferred but training can be provided) Calm, patient, and empathetic approach Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one What We Offer: A supportive and welcoming school environment Ongoing training and development Opportunity to make a lasting impact on students' lives Competitive daily rate Interested?
