Qualified Science Teacher (ECT's Welcome to apply) Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: September 2025 Location: Lewisham, South East London About the Role: We are looking to appoint a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Science Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive science department at a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed educator to inspire the next generation of scientists across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured Science lessons * Teach across the Science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) in line with the National Curriculum * Use data and assessment effectively to monitor progress and support all learners * Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extracurricular activities * Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom * Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve outcomes The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Science degree * Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline * Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential) * Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive education * A proactive and reflective approach to teaching and learning * A genuine enthusiasm for science and a desire to ignite that passion in students What The School Offers: * A welcoming and inclusive school community * A well-resourced Science department with modern facilities * Opportunities for career progression and professional development * Strong leadership support and mentoring for early career teachers * Inner London salary weighting
