The Head of Manufacturing Execution & Laboratory Information Application Operations leads a dedicated team, focusing on delivering high-quality technical and business process solutions. The role needs to cover applications and projects in the business areas of Engineering and production execution, Plant Maintenance, and laboratory information management and instruments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing technology projects, optimizing operational processes, and leading development teams to achieve strategic business objectives in the area of Manufacturing Execution & Laboratory Information applications. Key Responsibilities: • Efficient and high performing application operations for manufacturing and laboratory applications. • Delivery and Project Leadership: Develop and implement project plans that align with the organizations strategic goals. Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through to deployment and support. • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of developers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. Allocate resources effectively and set clear team objectives. • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for business & project stakeholders, including business units and IT leadership. Ensure transparent communication regarding project progress, risks, and outcomes. • Process Optimization: Utilize deep understanding of business processes and technology to identify opportunities for process improvement. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of business operations. • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet predefined standards and business requirements. Implement rigorous testing and QA processes to ensure the reliability and performance of solutions. • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Develop and maintain comprehensive risk management plans to ensure smooth project execution. • Vendor and Resource Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards. Oversee procurement and integration of third-party solutions as needed. • Agile Methodology: Apply agile methodologies and principles to manage projects and deliver value quickly and efficiently. Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure the team adheres to agile best practices. Key Requirements: • Minimum of 7 years of experience in application operations, with a focus on manufacturing and laboratory solutions. • Strong project management skills and successful project delivery track record • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills. • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships across all levels of an organization. • Third party management capabilities • Proficiency in risk management and change management. • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. Education/ Qualifications: • A bachelors degree in business, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. • Itil 4, Prince 2 or SAFe CSP Certification is a plus • Managing a global team involves dealing with different time zones, cultural differences, and varied regulatory environments. These factors can lead to miscommunication, inconsistent processes, and difficulties in maintaining a unified strategy. • Establish clear governance, processes, and guidelines. • Foster a strong company culture. • Staying competitive requires embracing new technologies and innovation, but this must be balanced with the need for operational stability and security, especially in a large-scale IT environment. • Implement a multi-track approach. • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement. Travel Requirements: • Up to 20% travel within Europe and Americas Languages: • English (speaking, reading and writing) • Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
