Controls Engineer

Our client is an established manufacturer of special purpose machinery and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Controls Engineer. The successful candidate will be an experienced electrical engineer with excellent electrical design and plc programming skills. The Role: Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of new plc control systems for a wide range of automated machinery. Duties will include but is not limited to the following; Design of electrical control schematics PLC programming using Rockwell CompactLogix or Red-Lion Graphite Terminals with Toshiba Unified Controller PLC's Design & development new software controls Upgrade and modify existing control systems Assist with on-site installations and commissioning Provide technical support for customers and engineers Candidate: The Controls Engineer will have excellent electrical controls design experience and software writing & programming skills. You will have excellent plc controls design and programming skills and applicants with knowledge of either Rockwell, Toshiba or Siemens controls would be beneficial. Youi will be competent in the use of AutoCAD for electrical design. You will have at least 5 years experience in a similar controls engineer or lead controls engineer position. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 40 hrs Benefits: Excellent basic salary £60K - £70K DOE 33 days annual leave Sick pay Death in Service Pension
