The Impact You’ll Make in this Role Provides sourcing advice and consults with leadership team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for transportation. Responsible for cost reduction, cash improvement opportunities, supply risk management, and sourcing initiatives and tools. May have responsibility for management of accounts payable ledger or purchase order transaction management. May negotiate highly complex sourcing contracts. Leads team(s) to manage external suppliers to deliver improved benefits to 3M. Determines directions and priorities and assigns resources with full accountability for results of the assigned functional area. As a Logistics Sourcing Analyst , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Consulting with Sourcing and transportation operations team to develop a standardized RFP documentation process for each mode. Problem solving requires hypothetical thinking to determine best solutions for complex problems. Utilizes resources across work areas and departments to create solutions. Most complex problem solving may require in-depth interpretation and analysis for significantly different situations. Decisions impact one area of the organization and occasionally may impact multiple areas. Establishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the logistics function. Working tasks might include: Becoming a SME on sourcing RFP platform – Build RFPs and develop. Providing insights to sourcing managers on key market trends to assist in their supplier negotiations. Supporting strategy development data collection. Developing systems to support sourcing information needs. Building relationships with parcel, international freight, and drayage suppliers. Leading supplier negotiations and contract management for parcel carriers, rail car leases, and customs brokers. Developing BI reports including supplier spend, price per mode trend, and market intelligence reporting. Validating and publishing cost vs. market trend. Driving and ensuring compliance with corporate sourcing policies and procedures. Incorporating local issues into corporate sourcing plans, considering local goals and investments. Managing major claims against suppliers. Developing a tracking mechanism for cost-saving programs and opportunities. Communicating with managers, functional leaders, and external clients. Demonstrating company values. Participating in relevant corporate programs, complying with professional and quality standards, and acting in accordance with 3M’s values and ethics. Your Skills and Expertise To succeed in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum): Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Three (3) years of transportation/logistics sourcing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment. Experience in Business and Data Analytics (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel). Understanding financial data is a plus. Advanced English proficiency. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed further include: Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related from an accredited institution. Five (5) years of sourcing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong program management, analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
