Supplier Quality Development Engineer SUPLLIER QUALITY DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER IMPACT AND OPPORTUNITY The Supplier Development Engineer is a function for managing the new raw material and/or new supplier introduction through APQP and PPAP process. Furthermore he/she has the function of assessing, auditing and developing new and existing suppliers. The SQD engineer is responsible for developing underperforming serial suppliers and managing escalation issues to ensure consistent quality and compliance with company standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform comprehensive VDA 6.3 audits to evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and requirements for successful onboarding into the supply chain. Follow up on corrective actions and results from audit findings, ensuring task completion. Participate in the supplier sourcing decision process and provide necessary quality inputs for it. Provide comprehensive support from a supplier quality perspective as an active member of the project team for the introduction of new materials, from the early stages of the project through to SOP. Provide professional support from the supplier side in conducting feasibility studies for product manufacturability. Coordinate the supplier's Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, providing professional support as needed, and review FMEA, CP, PFC, and other quality documents. Provide professional support during supplier trial production and first part production, and conduct Run@Rate tests at suppliers' facilities if required by the project. Fully manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and its documentation. Ensuring safe launch during product introduction and collaborating with the supplier to rectify any arising issues. Organize, prepare, conduct, document, and follow up on actions for supplier audits according to the VDA 6.3 standard. Manage Supplier Engineering Change requests for both existing and new products. Coordinate Global Supplier Changes, ensuring seamless change management across all locations. Lead supplier development projects by coordinating efforts to enhance supplier performance, implementing improvement initiatives, and ensuring alignment with company standards and goals. Develop and implement training programs for suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures. Based on quarterly supplier evaluations, notify underperforming suppliers, and request corrective action plans. Support Plant SQA as an escalation path in case of ongoing supplier quality issues, poor supplier ratings, and uncooperative suppliers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Degree and/or Diploma in Engineering is preferred, also possible science, or Quality related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality related function 3 years or more experience in manufacturing, process engineering or other related segments Auditing experience is highly appreciated Familiar with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 standard, R@R, 8D problem solving, internal auditor for IATF and VDA 6.3 audit license preferred. Familiar with AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC. Proficient in Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook Good English Skills - Advanced Level PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of or dealing with suppliers of plastics and metal parts. Experience in supplier audits or internal audits. Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8Ds, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram). Core tools. APQP. VDA6.3. NICE TO KNOW Travel 20-30% Valid VISA and Passport
