Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/28/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Cath Lab Facility: Meritus Medical Center Location: 11116 Medical Campus Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21742 Start Date: July 28, 2025 Duration: 6 Weeks Shift: 4x10-Hour Day Shift (07:30 AM – 05:30 PM) Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse for a 6-week travel assignment at Meritus Medical Center. This is a fast-paced environment ideal for RNs who are proficient in conscious sedation and telemetry and have previous Cath Lab experience. This role includes weekday and weekend call rotations. Responsibilities Perform pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization. Administer and monitor conscious sedation and maintain airway management during procedures. Manage and interpret telemetry monitoring during procedures. Assist physicians in all Cath Lab procedures including: Left & Right Heart Catheterizations STEMI & NSTEMI interventions Peripheral AVF Angioplasties & Thrombectomies IVC filter placements Pacemaker Insertions, Generator Changes Loop Recorders (Insertions & Removals) EP Studies, Cardioversions (including TEE-assisted) Pain procedures Operate and manage specialized equipment including: Balloon Pumps Temporary Pacemakers Ensure compliance with sterile techniques and patient safety protocols. Complete required documentation using hospital EMR (charting system not specified). Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, respiratory services, and RRT. Qualifications Active RN license in compact state or Maryland. Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required (no first-time travelers). Travel nursing experience required. Proficiency in: Conscious Sedation Telemetry Monitoring Certifications Required : BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Unit Details Unit Type: Cath Lab RN, Unit 11.7310 Unit Beds: 4 procedural rooms Daily Census: 5–24 cases per day Scheduling: Self-scheduling model Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric Staffing Ratios: Days: 1:3-4 Nights: On-Call On-Call Schedule: Call shifts are from 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM on weekdays. Weekend call: 5:30 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday. Average of 9–13 on-call shifts in a 6-week period. 4-man call team rotation.
