Field Service Engineer – Material Handling Equipment North West Region Company Van Fuel Card £Competitive Excellent Benefits We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the material handling industry , known for their award-winning electric lift trucks and long-standing reputation for quality engineering, ergonomic design, and reliability. With a strong presence across the UK and internationally, they are looking to expand their field service team with a skilled and motivated engineer. The Role: As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing and repairing forklift trucks and other material handling equipment at customer sites. This is a mobile role covering planned maintenance, fault-finding, and breakdown response, ensuring safe, professional, and cost-effective service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Complete service, repair, and maintenance of electric lift trucks at customer sites. Conduct safety inspections and maintain accurate documentation (job sheets, parts usage, etc.). Manage and monitor van stock to ensure availability of parts. Maintain company equipment, tools, and van in a safe, clean condition. Work to planned schedules and meet deadlines efficiently. Deliver high standards of customer service and technical support. What We're Looking For: You'll need knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Hydraulic Systems You'll also need: Full UK Driving Licence (essential) Strong fault-finding and repair skills Experience working in a service/maintenance environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills and a strong work ethic Commitment to Health & Safety and quality processes Desirable (Not Essential): Formal engineering qualification (NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds etc.) Package Includes: Hours: Monday to Friday Vehicle: Company van fuel card (private use available, subject to tax) Holiday: 25 days bank holidays Ongoing training and career development opportunities Ready to take the next step in your engineering career?
