Financial Officer

Position: Financial OfficerLocation: Downtown Toronto (hybrid)Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 4 weeks vacationOur client is seeking a Financial Officer to support financial reporting and analysis for government-funded programs. This role involves preparing monthly financial statements, managing cash flow reporting, and ensuring funding compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and government contacts to ensure accurate, timely submissions.Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly financial statements for government-funded programs- Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets for payments and expenditures- Support quarterly cash flow forecasts and fund requisition reporting- Review and verify submitted expense reports against budget and forecast- Analyze contract amendments and funding agreements- Coordinate approvals for payments and respond to financial queries- Assist with preparing annual government returns and ad hoc reports- Collaborate with internal program staff on monthly and quarterly financial deliverablesCandidate Profile:- Education: University degree in Accounting or Business Management- Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of experience in full-cycle accounting- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting- Proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar)- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills- Comfortable managing large data sets and preparing reports- Bonus: experience working in either the non-profit and public/government sectors.Please forward an updated Word version of your resume to Meghan Melanson at meghan.melanson@quantum.ca.
