Job Description
In this role a crucial part will be to safeguard both the business and its players. By identifying critical issues, proposing risk mitigation strategies, and assisting in the implementation of responsible gambling controls, you will contribute to maintaining a secure and ethical gaming environment for all stakeholders. Minimum Requirements: Matric/NQF4 Completed Degree/Qualification in related field (e.g., Law, Risk Management, Business Administration) Minimum of 2 4 years experience in a similar role (iGaming Industry or Financial Services Industry preferred) Must have background in Risk & Compliance and strong knowledge of risk management and compliance principles: Understanding frameworks, methodologies, and best practices Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in relevant software and tools: Understanding of risk management and compliance software (working experience and knowledge of Kount | GBG preferred) Working Hours: Hybrid (Monday & Thursday in office | Flexi hours (start between 06h00 10h00 and end between 14h00 18h00) Key Performance Areas: Identify suspicious activity using the available fraud monitoring tools and systems Review and monitor customer account registration, deposits and withdrawals Identify fraudulent behaviour conducted by existing or new customers (e.g. attempts to defraud the business by identity theft or bonus abuse) Identify fraudulent behaviour conducted by affiliates or marketing partners (affiliate fraud) Deliver any reporting requirements and updates as required Investigate risk reports submitted by other departments Perform investigations and take action to mitigate losses to the company (refunds, voids, prevention of further deposits etc.) Perform investigations with regards to AML/FT compliance Analyse and identify fraud trends and player behaviour across groups of accounts Monitor chargebacks, analyse and provide framework for representment when appropriate Review and assess player data to identify potential signs of problem gambling and ensure timely intervention Ensure that player interactions are conducted in accordance with Safer Gambling policies, and manage escalations where necessary Product Development: Suggest innovations at a product and process level to optimise department processes | Contribute as required to ad hoc projects to optimise the player experience, mitigate losses and ensure licence compliance Communication: Assist player support with escalated queries related to Risk, Safer Gambling or Compliance | Escalate investigation results to relevant departments and follow up when required (e.g. Banking, Marketing, CRM) In return this opportunity will offer a rewarding remuneration package and permanent employment, forming part of a dynamic and niche working environment with strong management support.
