Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with clinical protocols and radiation safety guidelines. Position patients correctly and operate mammography equipment to obtain clear, diagnostic-quality images. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with documentation for radiologist interpretation. Ensure patients are informed, comfortable, and supported throughout the procedure. Monitor and maintain equipment, perform quality assurance checks, and report faults as needed. Work collaboratively with radiologists, breast care nurses, and administrative teams. Support patient education on breast health and follow-up procedures. Adhere to infection control, health & safety, and ethical standards at all times. Minimum Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in Radiography (with a focus on Diagnostic Radiography). Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography or additional training in Mammography. Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) . Completed community service. Minimum of 12 years of mammography experience preferred (newly certified candidates will be considered). Strong knowledge of mammographic anatomy, pathology, and positioning techniques. Good interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with female patients of varying ages and backgrounds. Drives License essential
