Job Description

JOB TITLE: Facilities Technician
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
REPORTS TO: Sustainability and Viticulture Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY:

 The Facilities Technician supports the day-to-day upkeep of all Bundschu Co. facilities. This individual assists with repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of the buildings and grounds, including but not limited to routine maintenance, cleanliness, and diagnosing issues. Their focus is to ensure Bundschu Co. properties are in good working order, clean, and presentable for our guests and employees, supporting the delivery of beautiful and functional spaces. This position also plays a key role in supporting the Events Department for large and small on-site events, including concerts.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with diagnosing maintenance issues and coordinating external support when needed
  • Support routine housekeeping, and landscaping activities with safety and compliance in mind
  • Assist the Events Team with setup and breakdown for on-site events at multiple locations

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance of facilities systems including water (potable and wastewater), equipment, fans, lighting, solar panels, landscaping, building structures and general cleaning tasks
  • Complete daily and weekly checks of systems and equipment
  • Maintain records for the replacement of filters, disposables, etc.
  • Manage and maintain compressed gas tanks
  • Assist with assessing and executing equipment repairs
  • Support coordination with repair and service vendors
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improving maintenance processes
  • Inspect and clean parking and guest areas daily
  • Perform light maintenance in office areas, including furniture assembly
  • Maintain organization of tools and supplies

Housekeeping:

  • Assist with ensuring housekeeping needs are met, including inventorying and stocking supplies

Landscaping:

  • Support landscaping activities, including operating groundskeeping equipment (lawnmowers, blowers, power-edgers)
  • Sweep and maintain sidewalks, driveways, building entrances, and other assigned areas

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Special Projects and Facilities team to complete projects successfully
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Work alongside the Maintenance/HVAC Team to support peak needs (e.g., during Harvest)

Events/Tasting Room:

  • Support Events Managers in executing event setups and breakdowns for concerts and events
  • Support Tasting Room Managers and Special Project Manager in executing repairs and beautification projects amongst tasting room areas.

Safety:

  • Attend monthly Safety Committee meetings as required
  • Support safety inspections, including monthly fire extinguisher and eye wash station checks
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

Other duties as assigned.

 

AUTHORITIES:

  • Identify and communicate maintenance and facility needs to the Sustainability and Viticulture Manager
  • Suggest opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within facilities operations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of facilities maintenance experience; winery experience preferred
  • Experience with landscaping and housekeeping support a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Takes initiative and shows commitment to the organization in a hands-on manner
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Valid CA Driver’s License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb as required to complete daily tasks
  • Ability to work efficiently and make decisions in a dynamic environment with limited resources

Compensation details: 25-26 Hourly Wage
