Payroll Administrator

Payroll Specialist We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in North York, Ontario. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a crucial role as SME in processing unionized payroll in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll systems and accounting software.Responsibilities:- Process employee payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.- Manage and maintain payroll systems within large ERP software such as SAP, Jonas and Sage 300, ensuring data integrity.- Prepare and distribute detailed payroll reports using tools like Crystal Reports.- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to coordinate benefits administration, including RRSP and 401(k) plans.- Audit payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accurate record-keeping.- Handle year-end payroll activities, including T4 and ROE preparation.- Assist in implementing and improving payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency.- Provide support for employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to company policies.- Ensure compliance with tax reporting and remittance deadlines.- Proven experience in union payroll administration, with knowledge of accounting functions and benefit processing.- Proficiency in payroll systems such as SAP, Jonas, and Sage 300.- Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Crystal Reports.- Familiarity with RRSP and 401(k) administration processes.- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.- Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations.- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
