Paralegal

We are looking for a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in North York, Ontario. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in supporting legal operations, including drafting legal correspondence, preparing notices, and assisting counsel with regulatory and compliance matters. If you have a strong background in legal research, document preparation, and regulatory compliance, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:- Draft notices of proposal to refuse licensure and prepare related legal correspondence.- Conduct in-depth legal research and draft written submissions, pleadings, and other legal documents.- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to ensure organizational compliance.- Assist counsel in preparing for Registration Committee matters, including assembling evidence and preparing legal briefs.- Collaborate with lawyers by interviewing witnesses and collecting relevant case information.- Research legal precedents, court records, and other documents to support case preparation.- Communicate complex legal information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.- Provide support to the Licensing and Regulatory Compliance departments as needed.- Use case management software and other tools to organize and manage legal documentation.- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.- A degree or diploma in a law-related field.- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a regulatory or compliance setting.- Proficiency in legal research methods using both print and electronic resources.- Strong ability to interpret and apply legal documentation, laws, and regulations.- Familiarity with the Engineers Act and similar regulatory statutes is an asset.- Expertise in drafting legal documents under tight deadlines with exceptional accuracy.- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.- Strong ethical standards and the ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
