Property Accountant Manager - Ottawa - $80K to $85K

Position: Property Accountant ManagerLocation: Ottawa Salary: $80K to $85KA respected and well-established real estate company in Ottawa is seeking a Property Accountant Manager to lead their property accounting team and oversee day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with strong leadership and technical accounting skills, preferably in the real estate sector.Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all aspects of property accounting including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis- Lead the preparation of monthly internal reporting packages for a mixed residential and commercial portfolio- Present and explain financial results clearly to senior leadership- Work closely with operations teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the portfolio- Manage commercial lease administration, including CAM reconciliations- Oversee cash management: rent collection, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team- Liaise with external auditors and provide required documentation- Recommend process improvements and contribute to Yardi system enhancementsQualifications & Skills:- University degree or college diploma in Accounting or related field- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role- Experience in property accounting strongly preferred- CPA designation or in progress considered an asset- Proficiency with Yardi software and strong Excel skills- Strong communication and analytical skills- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities- Proven ability to lead and support a teamPlease send your resume in Word format to Andrea Luxenburg at andrea.luxenburg@quantum.ca.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
