Senior Public Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Public Accountant, CPA, to join our client's team on a 6-mon contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong full-cycle accounting expertise and excellent communication skills to support various financial reporting and operational functions. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial processes and compliance with auditing standards. Responsibilities:- Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and strong focus on month-end close processes.- Manage accounts receivable activities such as billing and invoicing for customers.- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.- Support year-end audit processes and collaborate with auditors.- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data efficiently.- Work with Oracle PeopleSoft to manage accounting operations and maintain system accuracy.- Ensure adherence to established accounting standards and practices.- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address financial inquiries.- Collaborate in a hybrid work environment, with on-site responsibilities on Tuesdays and Thursdays.- CPA designation or equivalent is required.- Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience with focus of month-end close.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for advanced data manipulation and analysis.- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, billing, and accrual accounting processes.- Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft or similar accounting software systems.- Familiarity with month-end and year-end close procedures.- Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
