Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing accounts payable processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for accounting.Responsibilities:- Process and verify invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.- Perform data entry tasks related to accounts payable transactions with precision.- Reconcile the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.- Approve and batch invoices for processing using accounting software systems.- Manage the distribution of invoices to relevant departments for approval.- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations during all payable activities.- Utilize ERP systems to maintain and update financial records efficiently.- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation.- Handle automated clearing house (ACH) payments and oversee accrual accounting tasks.- Assist with auditing procedures by providing accurate and organized records.- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP and Concur.- Strong familiarity with accrual accounting and auditing practices.- Demonstrated expertise in account coding and general accounting functions.- Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) payments.- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.- Knowledge of ADP financial services is an asset.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
