POSTING DATE: April 4, 2025 POSTING 168-25 (OPSEU) HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE NOTICE OF VACANCY POSITION: SOCIAL WORKER (BSW) Community Treatment Order Temporary Part-Time POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Treatment Order Social Worker facilities the implementation of CTO’s in Huron and Perth Counties. They work with psychiatrists, physicians, service providers, consumer/survivors, and families to promote the use of CTO’s, to ensure CTO’s are implemented appropriately, to ensure service provider participants fulfil their commitments of CTO’s, to ensure consumer/survivors on CTO’s have access to case management. They work toward CTO’s and develops ongoing communication among providers and consumers. This position requires travel throughout Huron and Perth Counties. REPORTS TO: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible SALARY: $39.16 to $50.77 per hour QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor degree in Social Work - Current registration with a regulated college in Ontario, such as OCSWSSW - Minimum 2 years experience in providing professional clinical services to people with serious mental illness. - Knowledge and familiarity with Bill 68 and other changes to the Mental Health Act, and Rights Advice - Completion of a crisis intervention certificate program or equivalent experience and education. - Current basic CPR. ABILITIES: - Well-developed skills in assessment, service coordination, counselling, group facilitation, problem solving and public education. - Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by individuals in acute mental health distress and by individuals with severe mental illness. - Demonstrated knowledge and competence in the application of treatment modalities to support individuals with serious mental illness. - Knowledge of mental health reform and values, principles of recovery, Mental Health Act, PHIPPA, Health Care Consent Act and Public Hospitals Act. - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team -Demonstrated ability to provide training and information to other providers and to consumer/survivors and their loved ones - Ability to develop community resources supportive of the implementation of CTO’s - Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development - Personal transportation with a valid Ontario driver’s license and auto endorsement insurance.
