Job Description
The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for performing chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role requires expertise in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, data analysis, and reporting while following strict quality control and safety procedures. Experience: · 1-5 years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, food, environmental, or industrial lab. · Experience with analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniques. Skills & Competencies: · Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, microbiology, and laboratory techniques. · Ability to interpret and analyse test results accurately. · Proficiency in MS Excel, LIMS software, and report writing. · Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Working Conditions: · Physical Demands: Requires standing for extended periods, handling chemicals, and working with precision instruments. · Work Environment: Exposure to chemical fumes, biological samples, and high-temperature equipment. Shifts: May require rotational shifts, overtime, and weekend work depending on laboratory demands. 1. Sample Analysis & Testing · Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests on raw materials, intermediates, and final products. · Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, and pH meters. · Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as per laboratory protocols. · Ensure proper handling, labelling, and storage of samples and chemicals. 2. Data Recording & Reporting · Accurately record test results in laboratory notebooks, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), or electronic systems. · Analyse and interpret test data, reporting any deviations from specifications. · Prepare detailed test reports, certificates of analysis (CoAs), and regulatory documentation. 3. Quality Control & Compliance · Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO 17025, GMP, and regulatory guidelines. · Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs. · Perform instrument calibration, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy. · Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and reporting. 4. Safety & Environmental Compliance · Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and environmental regulations. · Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste materials safely. · Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-free laboratory environment. 5. Research & Development (if applicable) · Support R&D activities by conducting experimental trials and stability studies. · Assist in the development of new testing methods and process improvements.
