EXCITING CAREER OPPORTUNITY CERES, WESTERN CAPE Ceres Fruit Growers (Pty) Ltd, one of the leading fruit packing and marketing companies in SA, requires energetic and professional people for the following positions at its Ceres plant: We are currently recruiting for a REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN The cold storage of fruit forms an important part of our operations and we have extensive cooling facilities that include normal as well as controlled atmosphere cold storage. QUALIFICATIONS: Suitably qualified Artisan (Electrical / Mechanical discipline) Successful completion of trade test CAT A or CAT B Safe handling of Ammonia. EXPERIENCE: Installation(s) of ammonia cooling systems Controlled Atmosphere (CA) experience with strict adherence to fruit protocols (advantageous) DCA experience (advantageous) SKILLS: Computer literate (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint) Good communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels Must be able to function well under pressure Attentive with good problem solving skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance, repair and fault finding on all ammonia refrigeration equipment (mechanical and electrical) Inspections and record keeping of maintenance and safety systems Knowledge of fruit industry will strengthen application The successful candidate will also be expected to perform standby duties.
