Junior Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join their manufacturing business located in Pinetown. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring accuracy, and providing essential support to the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Key Performance Areas: Financials up to trial balance Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties, Recording financial transactions on Quickbooks. Processing/reconciling group bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Processing month end journals. Processing/capturing invoices/bills etc. Quickbooks Reconciling creditor recons and payment listing Ensure supplier accounts and ageing are updated Reporting and data analysis current and history. Maintain organized and secure financial filing systems Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion Assisting in various financial ad hoc duties when required Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in Bookkeeping Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, SAGE Accounting Proficient in Microsoft packages, namely Word, Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time-management skills Good problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
