· Assist with leading the Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment, facilities and infrastructure. · Involved in implementing planned preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager. · Assist with improving the sites operational effectiveness, improvement on project delivery and timely completion of work carried out. · Install and implement new machinery. · Identify, repair and replace defective machine parts. · Shutting down of machinery that is unsafe/faulty. · Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. · Review and change technical manuals where necessary · Act as a mentor for the apprentices and assist in developing skills and techniques. · Play a role in continuous improvement and recommending changes/improvements in training, working practices and processes. · Communicate with Maintenance Manager and Supervisor on a variety of plains, including parts that need to be ordered, apprentice development and department improvement. · Assist with plant pre-audit checks. · Ensure the upkeep of machine parts, to ensure that machinery costs are kept to a minimum Comply with policies and procedures Learn, discuss and ensure SOPs and policies and procedures are being followed. Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to, and all other regulatory requirements Manage subordinates Support other Maintenance and Production staff as required. Involve maintenance staff on a day to day basis in line with work requirements where necessary. Monitor and evaluate performance and provide feedback to apprentices. Report serious disciplinary issues to Maintenance Manager/Supervisor. Completed apprenticeship with a mechanical and electrical discipline. Completed trade test with valid certification. Relavant knowledge relating to Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering. · Over 3 years plant level experience with significant proven man management/contractor management experience. · Technical capability and understanding. · Preventative maintenance experience. · Project management experience. · Understanding of ISO quality systems. · English: Speaking, reading and writing. · Experience in plastics processing, re-cycling machinery and equipment would be advantageous. · Good leadership, man management and team building skills. · Good understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance. · Good planning, organizational and follow-up skills. · Competent in problem assessment, problem solving and decision making. · Effective communication with maintenance and production teams to identify problems · Incident Investigation skills. · Maintaining good housekeeping. Physical / Medical: Employment will be subject to appropriate medical surveillance (entry medical). Candidate should be found medically and physically fit for the position and its corresponding environment.
