Senior Credit Controller

A Well Established company based in Pomona, requires a Senior Credit Controller DUTIES: Debtors book over 400 accounts 2,500 documents on average open at the end of the month Up to 600 accounts in a month. Books in high millions Ensure the application of effective control procedures throughout the credit department Promote good relations with external as well as internal customers Ensure a positive cash inflow via collections of debtor accounts Ensure effective follow up procedures on all defaults and/or credit limit breaches Eliminate unauthorized credit through the necessary controls and discipline Minimize bad debts Provide Management with timeous, accurate and relevant information for decision making purposes, and improve business relations with internal and external customers by means of an effective administration process Validation of credit applications Processing of debtor transactions (Invoices, SRO credit notes and journals) Credit control by means of credit limit management Maintain debtor master files Prepare debtor recons Prepare weekly cash flow forecasting Resolve customer queries timeously Verify credit insurance cover Update daily banking of cash/cheques on computer to customers records Trace direct deposits on bank statements Process customers payment receipts to NAV Follow up on outstanding proof of delivery documents and submit to customers when requested Reconcile and match items in unallocated receipts Send invoices, credit notes and statements to clients Co-ordinate all queries from customers with customer services or sales staff Prepare weekly and monthly management reports Adhere to monthly due dates Update notes on the NAV system Preparation of information required or documentation by banking institutions, and normal admin duties relevant to the department Reduction of Debtors Days Review of Customer performance Ongoing review and maintenance of Customer files and systems Accurate and timely submission of cash flow forecasts Target and Deadline driven, and s trict adherence to monthly deadlines REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 Relevant Credit Management/Accounting Diploma or higher Experience in credit control (minimum of 10 years) Experience in credit management (3-5 years) General accounting exposure and understanding Cash allocation/reconciliation experience High level of computer literacy MS Office, Outlook, Excel & Word Preferably the candidates must have done studies towards credit management, either Credit Management Institutes Credit Management 1,2,3, etc Modules or a Diploma in Credit Management We are looking for a vibrant and lively person that is energetic and can bring energy to the team Most of the candidates has mainly corporate exposure and experience, we are looking for someone that comes from a medium size business that understands the environment we operate in We are looking for someone that made their career in Credit Management and is on a Senior Credit Controller with a pathway that could become a credit manager in the future
