Splunk Engineer

Job Title: Splunk Engineer Location: Remote – Mexico Industry: Information Technology / Cybersecurity / Cloud Services Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to contribute to the implementation and enhancement of enterprise observability solutions, leveraging Splunk Cloud and IT Service Intelligence (ITSI). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuring and supporting large-scale Splunk deployments and a strong understanding of enterprise monitoring and analytics. Requirements: 4–5 years of hands-on Splunk experience. 3–5 years of experience developing with Splunk ITSI (mandatory). 4–8 years of overall industry experience in a technical role. Experience with enterprise-level implementations of Splunk Cloud is a strong plus. Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements for Splunk-based solutions. Experience with product testing and troubleshooting in enterprise environments. Qualifications: Proven experience supporting large enterprise Splunk environments (5,000 servers). Proficient in developing ITSI glass tables, service trees, KPIs, correlation searches, and notable event aggregation policies. Splunk Certification preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience). Strong knowledge of enterprise operations and maintenance best practices. At least 2 years of experience creating rules and advanced logic in Splunk. Familiarity with cloud runtime services (e.g., AWS EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, Azure Functions). Effective communication skills and ability to interface with end users. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Primary Responsibilities: Engineer, configure, administer, and support enterprise observability tools, including Splunk Cloud, Splunk ITSI, and Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring. Design and build ITSI glass tables, service trees, entity models, KPIs, and correlation searches. Create and optimize front-end dashboards, reports, and search queries using SPL (Search Processing Language). Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for any post-deployment issues. Independently produce low-level design documentation; assist with high-level designs and prototyping. Scale the platform by onboarding new data sources and expanding use cases. Perform system health checks, analyze architecture and search performance, and recommend optimizations. Provide knowledge transfer and training to operations analysts and IT engineers. Collaborate with risk, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to ensure log management and SIEM compliance. Automate log ingestion, onboarding, and management processes to improve efficiency. Develop dashboards and reporting solutions aligned with business and user requirements. Partner with internal stakeholders to understand monitoring needs and advance observability maturity. Ensure 24x7 availability of monitoring solutions. Continuously identify opportunities to enhance system performance, stability, and scalability.
