The Role: This is a high-impact hybrid position , combining DevOps leadership with Java backend development . You'll be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, while also contributing directly to the development of core backend systems that power a next-generation energy platform. Key Responsibilities: Own and evolve cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Design and maintain CI/CD processes and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform). Develop and support backend services in Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar) . Contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of microservices architecture. Implement containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes . Ensure observability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana , and OpenTelemetry . Support secure, automated, and resilient deployments. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a DevOps or infrastructure engineering role. Strong Java backend development skills (essential). Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code. Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies and cloud security best practices. Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, Shell). Familiarity with containerisation and microservices patterns. Nice to Have: Experience with GitLab CI/CD, MongoDB, or Quarkus. Background in energy, mobility, or sustainability-focused tech. Broader understanding of distributed systems and agile software development.
