Job Description Job Description Salary: $32,000-$37,000 Summary: The Secondary Principal provides visionary leadership, instructional guidance, and spiritual direction for grades 6-12 at Grace Christian Academy. This role ensures that the secondary program maintains academic excellence, biblical integration, faculty development, student discipleship, and a Christ-honoring school culture. The Secondary Principal is responsible for the daily management of student life, curriculum, teacher support, discipline, and parent communication while working collaboratively with the Elementary Principal and Superintendent to implement the schools mission. Key Responsibilities: 1. Spiritual & Academic Leadership Model a Christ-centered lifestyle, fostering a culture of biblical wisdom, integrity, and service. Integrate a biblical worldview into all aspects of the curriculum and student life. Ensure academic rigor and faith integration in lesson planning, teaching, and assessment practices. Lead and facilitate weekly chapel services, devotions, and student discipleship initiatives. 2. Instructional Oversight & Faculty Development Evaluate, mentor, and help hire secondary school faculty to promote professional growth and instructional excellence. Observe teachers regularly, providing actionable feedback and guidance. Implement best practices for curriculum mapping, differentiation, and student engagement. Ensure consistency in grading, assessment policies, and student support structures. Facilitate professional development workshops, coaching, and annual evaluations. Promote collaborative learning among faculty through department meetings and peer observations. 3. Student Discipleship, Development & Behavior Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and spiritual growth among students. Implement and uphold discipline policies based on biblical principles and restorative practices. Work closely with teachers and parents to address behavioral and academic concerns. Oversee student leadership programs, including student government, peer mentoring, and service projects. Develop and oversee school-wide spiritual growth initiatives, including Bible studies, mission trips, and service-learning opportunities. 4. Curriculum & Program Development Oversee the secondary curriculum, ensuring alignment with GCAs biblical worldview, Expected Student Outcomes, and accreditation requirements. Evaluate and recommend curriculum improvements, ensuring students are prepared for higher education and vocational success. Collaborate with faculty to implement effective instructional strategies and technology integration. Maintain high standards for student learning, engagement, and performance on standardized assessments. 5. Parent & Community Engagement Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, policies, and school events. Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding academic and disciplinary concerns. Organize parent-teacher conferences, educational workshops, and community engagement events. Foster strong relationships with local churches, colleges, and community organizations to enhance student learning experiences. 6. Administrative & Operational Leadership Oversee the day-to-day operations of the secondary division, including scheduling, faculty meetings, and safety procedures. Collaborate with the Elementary Principal and Superintendent to ensure school-wide consistency in policies, procedures, and vision. Manage the secondary school calendar, academic reporting, and extracurricular activities. Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements, legal standards, and safety protocols. Oversee emergency preparedness plans and student supervision policies. Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience. Ability to inspire, mentor, and lead faculty and students in spiritual and academic growth. Strong personal faith in Christ, active church involvement, and alignment with GCAs statement of faith. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively engage with parents, students, and faculty. Strong time-management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Reporting Structure: Reports to the Superintendent. Collaborates closely with the Elementary Principal and other school leaders.
