Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications and completion of basic and/or intermediate electronic fetal monitoring courses. Must have a minimum 1 year full-time experience with Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (all specialty areas) nursing within the last year. Strong ability to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate and delegate the delivery of skilled patient care, as well as demonstrate critical thinking, and consistency in following established processes. Strong assessment skills surrounding pregnancy and labor including high risk cases. Must be able to identify alterations in the normal labor process and intervene when necessary. Experience circulating c-sections and providing post-anesthesia care following a c-section or vaginal delivery. Must show competency with infant assessment, stabilization, and electronic fetal heart monitoring and interpretation.
