Job Description
Sales Support Executive Your new company Hays is working with a large Engineering business based in Telford who are looking for a Technical Sales Executive on a permanent basis. This role would be responsible for the efficient and accurate day-to-day administration of all aspects of the sales function—from lead identification through to manufacturing production and ongoing support. This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional travel to meet customers. You will play a key role in supporting the field sales team, accelerating customer acquisition, ensuring retention, and driving account growth. Your As a Technical Sales Executive, your role will involve: Research, develop, and manage lead and prospect data. Collaborate with marketing to deliver sales campaigns and materials (e.g., social media, email marketing, presentations). Manage enquiries and supplier quotations , ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Identify and help resolve production and operational issues. Process purchase orders and coordinate with engineering and operations for seamless handovers. Communicate with customers and suppliers to provide updates, resolve queries, and maintain supply schedules. Manage slow-moving stock and maintain regular contact with key stakeholders. Maintain accurate sales and customer records using Microsoft Dynamics Navision. Generate monthly and ad hoc sales reports. Liaise with internal departments to expedite orders and resolve issues. Support the sales team with administrative tasks as needed. What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for this role, you will need experience in the following: Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role. Interest in engineered manufacturing and supply chain management. Previous experience in Engineering or Technical is mandatory. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with CRM systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is advantageous. Self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional growth. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. High attention to detail and commercial awareness.
