Mental Health Assistant - Ascot Aspiring Therapist / Psychologist Role Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism? The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom also experience additional mental health challenges such as anxiety, sensory needs, and social communication difficulties. About the Role : As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of students. Therapy is an essential part of daily life for children with ASD - it helps them to understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, improve social interaction, and build confidence in a safe, structured environment. You will work alongside a skilled team of therapists, psychologists, and teaching staff to deliver consistent, compassionate, and child-centred care. This is a brilliant opportunity for an aspiring therapist, educational psychologist, or SEN teacher to gain first-hand experience in a supportive and specialist setting.
