SEN Teacher (ASD) Location: Maidstone Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: September We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to join our inclusive and supportive throughout school in Maidstone. This permanent role is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate educator who is passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of students with ASD. Day-to-day of the role: Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students with ASD. Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student. Employ a variety of teaching techniques and tools, including technology, to enhance student learning and engagement. Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to maximize student learning and well-being. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies and techniques to meet the evolving needs of the students. Create a supportive, structured, and predictable classroom environment that helps students with ASD feel secure and motivated to learn. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching students with ASD. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus or qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN). Proven experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Strong understanding of the challenges and best practices for teaching students with ASD. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with families. Patience, resilience, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment. Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of students with ASD.
