SEN Teaching Assistant - September Start!

About the School: The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Ashington. The School supports pupils aged 4-19 and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils. Pay, Hours and Contract: Pay - Between £87-110 per day Hours - 08.30-16.00. Full-time. Contract - Full-time or part-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026 Start Date - September Location - Ashington About the Role: The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The School supports pupils with varying levels of ASD, ADHD and SEMH, aged 4-19. There are roles available to support pupils across this age-range depending on the preference, experience and skill-set of the successful Candidate. Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts is key. A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this. Experience/Qualifications and Requirements: A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired) Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
