Vice President, Credit Management - Financial Institutions (Open) Join to apply for the Vice President, Credit Management - Financial Institutions (Open) role at MUFG Team Lead - at MUFG Bank via Robert Walters - Outsourcing Job Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of Bank clients, analyzing and recommending on counterparty transaction proposals submitted by the Business for existing or new clients. Collaborate across Business areas and support functions to support MUFG Bank's growth, focusing on risk appetite, due diligence, structuring, financial modeling, and risk assessment. Evaluate credit applications, internal ratings, and transaction proposals for sovereign and financial institution clients, reviewing transaction materials and challenging assumptions as needed. Provide solutions and add value through client and transaction discussions, guiding on policy and risk appetite, and influencing transaction structures and terms to mitigate risk. Engage early with potential transactions, form opinions, and present these to ICD senior management. Participate in deal screening and communicate credit views and challenges. Present transactions clearly to senior management, demonstrating deep client and transaction knowledge, and suggest alternatives and risk mitigation strategies if necessary. Support, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a strong team environment. Collaborate across divisions and jurisdictions, building trusted relationships and providing clarity on risk appetite during meetings. Involve in term sheet, loan documentation, and ISDA/CSA reviews, influencing content and credit terms from a risk and commercial perspective. Monitor portfolios and clients proactively, flagging issues and formulating mitigation actions. Support new initiatives, providing risk guidance, and contribute to policy development and project participation. Participate in policy and procedure changes, liaising with stakeholders regionally and at the Tokyo Head Office. Job Requirements: Minimum 7 years of credit experience, with 4-5 years in FI sector coverage. Experience analyzing and documenting traditional lending, trade finance, structured transactions, and traded products, including derivatives and securities financing. Proven risk analysis skills for diverse client types, especially sovereigns and financial institutions across Asia/Oceania. Experience with M&A, leveraged finance, or real estate transactions, and handling impaired loans is advantageous. Strong understanding of sector risk dynamics, regulatory changes, and their application in risk analysis. Track record of working closely with Business partners, providing early and clear risk advice, and adding value. Experience contributing to credit policies, portfolio reporting, and special projects. Academic excellence with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Deep analytical skills, lateral thinking, and sound judgment. Attention to detail, numerical proficiency, and market awareness. Decisive, proactive, resilient, and able to operate under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, energetic, and committed. Structured, logical approach to work, high integrity, and leadership by example.
