Position We are currently looking for a Coordinator for R&D Standards, Patents and Factory Norms to join our R&D Department . In this role, you will lead the development, structuring and implementation of a streamlined patent process across the Department, working closely with the Legal team, so to ensure a smooth and effective patent process execution and related compliance across all relevant teams. Moreover, thanks to your strong technical understanding of development processes, manufacturing technologies and product innovation, you will also establish and manage a thought-through process for technical standards and the related adherence, as well as ensuring that processes and products are compliant to all safety regulations for motorcycle protective gear. You will also provide technical support as well as promote cross-departmental collaboration on these processes. Main Responsibilities You will be entrusted with developing and implementing a structured end-to-end patent process from the initial identification of the idea, patent concepts drafting whilst liaising closely with both the Legal team as well as patent attorneys, so to minimise R&D project related workload. You will introduce and implement KPIs aimed to drive strategic patent applications, guiding the R&D team throughout the process and highlighting the patent inventor, whilst also ensuring compliance to the patent process. You will be in charge of establishing and managing a structured technical standard and factory norms related process, documenting, storing and communicating said standards to the relevant stakeholders. You will also support all R&D teams in implementing factory norms and standardised procedures, monitoring and when needed enforcing adherence to the established standards across development areas. You will keep up-to-date with safety norms and regulatory requirements, creating a database so to that all R&D product development activities are compliant with the mandatory safety standards. You will also act as the main point of contact for safety standards and work closely with regulatory bodies. You will work cross-functionally in an extensive manner, collaborating closely with Legal, Quality Management and Product Development not only to ensure regulatory compliance but also to foster collaboration between teams. Requirements Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and / or related field. A minimum of 15 years’ experience gained in development organisations and / or in technical project management ideally within the Motorcycle and / or Automotive industries. Strong technical understanding of development processes, manufacturing technologies and product innovation. Solid familiarity with technical standards, factory norms, patent related legislation as well as hands-on experience in developing, implementing and auditing all related processes. Sound proficiency in regulation compliance for motorcycle safety apparel and protective equipment, as well as solid understanding of both international and industry specific standards (e.g. CE, ECE, DOT, ISO, EN). Previous experience in collaborating and working closely with patent attorneys and regulatory bodies. Excellent communication skills with proven ability to foster collaboration cross-functionally. Previous experience in establishing, monitoring and optimising workflows. Strong analytics and structuring abilities, so to ensure compliance and systematic documentation.
