Job Description

Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the accounting department. This includes overseeing the work of the accounting team, reviewing financial statements, and preparing reports for upper management. They may also develop and implement accounting policies and procedures. Responsibilities : Financial Reporting and Compliance Responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of financial accounting, recording, and submission, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow in SAP, ensuring compliance with local GAAP. This involves sales & GM review by business unit and product, overhead review by cost centre and business unit, appropriateness of accruals and provisions, and finalization of EBIT / EBITDA. 2. Treasury Manage the company's cash flow and bank balances (including credit facilities) effectively to ensure smooth operations and maximize cash position. Prepare a comprehensive 15-week cash flow projection bi-weekly and/or as required, ensuring high accuracy compared to actuals. 3. Statutory & Compliance Oversee statutory audits (including stock take), ensuring smooth and organized processes to obtain unqualified audit reports within timelines set by HQ and local authorities. Coordinate with the company secretary to ensure compliance with local regulations. Ensure compliance with all local regulations, including license applications and renewals. Implement and ensure compliance with e-invoicing requirements. Maintain transfer pricing compliance. 4. Credit Control & Assessment Review and assess new credit applications, as well as existing credit renewals, extensions, and limit adjustments. Assess current credit risks and propose provisions for doubtful accounts if necessary. Control approved credit limits and terms, and perform periodic credit assessments for customers. Manage credit recovery efforts, liaising with sales teams and legal counsel for slow or non-paying customers and taking legal action when necessary. 5. Process Improvement Lead and execute process improvement initiatives such as E-claims and new procurement procedures. 6. Working Capital Management Manage stock, including inventory reporting, assessment, and handling slow or non-moving inventory to meet DIO targets. Oversee accounts receivable collections, projections, and follow-ups to meet DSO targets. Manage accounts payable to ensure smooth operations while maximizing payment credits to improve working capital and meet DPO targets. Requirements : At least 8-10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment. Good knowledge of accounting principles and ERP systems, preferably SAP. Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and take on challenges. Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Self-motivated, resourceful, mature, and proactive in working independently. Qualifications : An accounting degree or professional qualifications such as ACCA, MICPA, CPA in Accounting or Finance, or related disciplines. J-18808-Ljbffr
