As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our product. Your responsibilities include: Contributing to technical direction and supporting team growth and accountability. Designing and building scalable backend solutions using Node.js with TypeScript. Overseeing AWS infrastructure and contributing to DevOps practices such as CI/CD, monitoring, and cloud architecture. Improving backend estimations, technical planning, and collaborating on roadmaps. Designing and implementing robust authentication, payment integrations, and API services. Leading technical execution of our custom video infrastructure project. Ensuring backend performance, security, and reliability at scale. Collaborating cross-functionally with Frontend, Product, and Design teams. Driving continuous improvement in workflows, code quality, and deployment processes. We seek a Backend Engineer who is eager to be challenged, contribute to process optimization, and question the status quo. Our Backend Technology Stack AWS services: EC2, Lambda, Cognito, SES, API Gateway, S3 Serverless Framework ZOD PostgreSQL Node.js / Express.js TypeScript Git / GitLab RESTful APIs What You’ll Bring Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with understanding of scalable backend architecture. Experience with custom video platforms or media delivery systems (e.g., AWS Media, Mux). 5 years of backend development experience. Familiarity with AWS cloud services, especially storage, compute, and user management (Cognito, S3, Lambda, API Gateway). Strong coding principles (DRY, SOLID). Agile Scrum proficiency. Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience. Quick learner, results-driven, adaptable. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Fluent English proficiency. Bonus Points Experience with CI/CD and DevOps workflows. Experience with Stripe, In-App Purchases, or dual payment models. Experience with AI/ML technologies. Startup or scale-up experience.
