We are looking for a AGM- Bussiness Development- MENA & SEA for an Indian Pharmaceutical MNC based in Thane Position: AGM- Bussiness Development- MENA & SEA Experience: 12-20 years in International Business Development (Pharma) Qualification: Any life science degree MBA Location: Thane, Maharashtra Regions Covered: Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa & Southeast Asia Department: International Business / Emerging Markets Purpose of the Role The Associate General Manager – MENA, RSA & SEA will lead business development and commercial strategy across high-potential emerging markets, including the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa , and Southeast Asia . This leadership role involves driving sustainable business growth, overseeing partnerships and distributor networks, ensuring regulatory readiness, and executing region-specific go-to-market strategies in alignment with corporate goals. Key Responsibilities Strategic Market Leadership Develop and execute comprehensive regional strategies to expand the organization’s footprint in MENA, RSA, and SEA markets, aligned with overall business growth targets. P&L Ownership & Revenue Growth Drive top-line growth by managing revenue targets, identifying new business opportunities, and optimizing commercial models across the assigned geographies. Partnership & Distributor Management Identify, evaluate, and maintain robust partnerships with regional distributors, agents, and licensing partners to ensure effective market penetration and compliance. Regulatory & Market Access Oversight Collaborate with internal regulatory and legal teams to streamline product registrations, ensure timely approvals, and navigate evolving market-specific regulations. Commercial Planning & Execution Lead the development of pricing, product positioning, and market access strategies tailored to local business environments and reimbursement landscapes. Cross-Functional Leadership Work closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless execution of market strategies. Market Intelligence & Competitive Benchmarking Monitor competitor activity, emerging market trends, policy changes, and macroeconomic shifts to inform decision-making and mitigate risks. Portfolio & Pipeline Support Provide commercial input into portfolio planning, product selection, and business case development for new launches in the region. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Business Administration; MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification preferred. Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in international pharmaceutical business development, including strong exposure to MENA, RSA, SEA , and other emerging markets . Proven track record in managing P&L, launching new products, and establishing sustainable revenue streams across diverse geographies. Deep understanding of regional regulatory frameworks, licensing processes, and local distribution ecosystems. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently, lead cross-border initiatives, and drive execution across multicultural environments. Willingness to travel extensively to meet market and business objectives. Additional Notes Experience in branded generics, specialty pharma, or institutional business models in emerging markets is highly desirable.
