Junior Software Developer

FBK is a research institution dedicated to excellence across various disciplines, aiming to keep the Autonomous Province of Trento aligned with European and international research standards. It comprises twelve research centers, details of which are available at http://www.fbk.eu/research-centers . The Digital Society Center at FBK ( https://digis.fbk.eu/ ) focuses on the pervasive impact of digital technology on society. Its goal is to leverage advanced research in AI, Big Data, IoT, and through partnerships with companies, to develop innovative solutions for societal challenges. The center has a multidisciplinary team of 80 researchers, technologists, and managers, organized into seven research units and two support units. Workplace Description The positions are within the Digital Society Lab (DS Lab, https://dslab.fbk.eu/ ), which aims to improve quality of life and sustainability in cities through innovative service delivery, communication, collaboration, and information exploration. The lab collaborates on projects related to smart mobility, environment sustainability, online services, citizen participation, and education, working closely with other FBK units and external partners. Background and Research Projects These positions are linked to projects including: PNC-A.1.3 - Digitalization of the Public Administration of Trento : FBK leads activities on AI data solutions to meet public administration needs, developing AI methods and integrating them into software platforms. IPCEI Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS): FBK participates in the CAITE project, part of a European initiative to develop resilient, scalable cloud-edge infrastructure, focusing on AI at the edge, cybersecurity, and trust services. Job Description FBK-DS Lab seeks junior software developers for projects supporting the administration of Trento and cloud infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and evolving software modules within technological platforms, collaborating with other units and partners. Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related fields, or equivalent experience. Experience in software design and implementation using Java, Python, Web frameworks. Knowledge of cloud architectures, data management, and storage solutions. Familiarity with software management tools and methodologies. Self-motivated, results-oriented, with good communication skills in Italian (C1) and English (B2). Ability to learn new technologies, work in teams, and demonstrate accuracy, flexibility, proactivity, and goal orientation.
