Job Description

Join to apply for the Avionic Software Engineer role at RINA RINA is currently recruiting for an Avionic Software Engineer to join its office in Turin within the Aerospace & Defence Division. The work will focus on analysis, design, and software development activities in the avionics domain. Key Accountabilities The following technical skills are required: Knowledge and experience in object-oriented, multi-tasking, and multi-threaded programming Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, ADA, Java) Knowledge of Python Knowledge of basic communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, serial) Understanding of the software lifecycle (requirements, design, coding, verification, testing) Experience with configuration management and version control tools (SVN, Git) Proficiency in English (written and spoken) The following skills are considered advantageous: Previous experience in avionics software development Experience in requirements analysis and definition (using DOORS) and design (UML modeling) Knowledge of markup languages (XML, JSON) Experience with model-based design tools (e.g., Simulink, SCADE) and automatic code generation Knowledge of relational databases Experience in real-time programming for embedded systems with real-time operating systems (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity, PikeOS) Understanding of avionics standards (RTCA DO-178C) Additional Qualities Ability to work effectively in a team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Education Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Master’s Degree in Engineering (preferred) Core Competencies Client focus Trustworthiness Sustainable development commitment Emotional intelligence Adaptability to change Networking skills Effective decision-making Big-picture thinking Forward planning With over 5,600 employees and 200 offices worldwide, RINA offers services across certification, marine classification, testing, supervision, inspection, training, and engineering consultancy.
