Within Leonardo's Space Division , we are looking for a Data Engineer based at the Roma plant. Job Responsibilities: Design data solutions such as ETL pipelines using Cloud-native technologies. Analyze, evaluate, and extract data from Open Sources. Draft and review technical documentation and presentations. Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD. Seniority: Junior: 0-1 years of experience. Additional preferred qualifications include: Experience with OSINT and open source data. Experience with geospatial data manipulation (Vector, Raster, LIDAR/Point Cloud) and GIS tools. Experience designing ETL pipelines with cloud-native tools and formats (GeoParquet, COG, COPC). Experience in web/document scraping and social network data gathering and filtering. Proficiency in Python and SQL for ETL, data wrangling, and visualization (e.g., Jupyter Notebook, Matplotlib, Leafmap). Familiarity with cloud concepts. Strong time management and organizational skills. Goal-oriented and customer-focused attitude. Problem-solving skills. Proactive approach. High level of English proficiency. Other requirements: Availability for national and international mobility.
