Job Description: Hitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated Project Procurement Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling a range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Napoli-Pistoia, Italy. Mission The Project Procurement Manager (PPM) manages and coordinates all procurement activities related to the project, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. Responsibilities include: Issuing the Procurement Plan (PRP) and Project Cost Control (PCC), aligned with the project budget and schedule, and monitoring procurement execution; Leading the supplier selection process to ensure contracts meet project requirements in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and other specific needs (e.g., local content), coordinating with buyers across categories; Ensuring all contracts/LOIs for key supplies are approved by the Project Manager before commitments; Updating and sharing the PRP and PCC regularly, including during monthly project meetings; Monitoring procurement costs for deviations, analyzing causes, and supporting recovery actions; Fostering cooperation between Procurement and other functions to meet project targets; Assessing the impact of vehicle configuration changes on scope, costs, and schedules; Supporting economic impact assessments of make/buy changes with the Project Controller. Main Interfaces The PPM will collaborate with: Supply Chain Maintenance Engineering and Operations Sales Program Management Administration & Finance Legal Required Skills / Knowledge Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings; Proficiency in office software and main computer tools; Knowledge of SAP MM environment; Strong negotiating, analytical, and management skills.
