Job Description
The role will be responsible for overseeing all accounting, finance, and control functions of the subsidiary. This role is crucial in ensuring financial integrity, compliance with local and international regulations, and supporting the subsidiary's strategic objectives. Will play a key role in managing financial risks, optimizing financial performance, and leading the finance team in a dynamic and challenging environment. Will report to the Head of Finance of the Freight Forwarding BU. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports primarily to Group Head of Finance and local management. Monitor financial performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed. Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the subsidiary. Accounting & Control Oversee the maintenance of accurate accounting records in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and company policies. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity. Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure compliance with all local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings. Leadership & Team Management : Lead and develop the finance team to achieve high levels of performance and engagement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the finance function. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives. Strategic Financial Planning : Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making and long-term planning. Drive cost efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities for revenue enhancement. Support capital expenditure planning and management, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Stakeholder Management : Act as the primary point of contact for all financial matters with internal and external stakeholders, including government authorities, auditors, and banks. Ensure effective communication of financial performance and risks to Regional Financial Director and local management. QUALIFICATIONS : Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable. MBA or Master's degree in Finance is a plus. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or control. Prior experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is highly preferred. Experience working in Africa, particularly in the Republic of Congo or similar emerging markets, is a strong advantage. Skills Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards (OHADA, IFRS). Proficiency in financial management software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Fluency in French and English is required.
