Marine Technical Manager Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire Employment Type: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join a growing organisation. This role is critical in ensuring the operational readiness and technical excellence of a fleet of Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), supporting safe and efficient operations in challenging marine environments. Key Responsibilities Oversee the technical management of vessels, including maintenance, defect resolution, and compliance with statutory regulations Lead and support a team of shore-based engineers and technical staff Liaise with Flag Administrations, Class Societies, and external contractors Conduct vessel visits, audits, and shipyard inspections Manage PMS systems, spare parts inventory, and technical budgets Support new build projects and monitor green propulsion initiatives Participate in emergency response and technical investigations Ideal Candidate Profile Degree or diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (or working towards one) Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical ship management or marine engineering Strong understanding of marine systems and regulatory compliance (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL) Excellent communication and leadership skills Experience with Caterpillar engines and PMS systems preferred NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification desirable
