Solutions Architect

Solution Architect 6 month initial contract £750-800 per day inside IR35 London based, 2 days a week in office Key Technologies: Java, Kafka, OpenShift, Oracle/SQL Our client, a major player in the Financial Services infrastructure space, is launching a multi-year transformation to migrate a critical legacy settlement system from COBOL and HPE NonStop to a modern, platform-independent architecture. We are looking for a Solution Architect to take technical ownership of this transformation and help drive delivery across the business. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, security, infrastructure and architecture teams to ensure consistency, quality and alignment with strategic goals. Key responsibilities include: Defining migration strategies in collaboration with enterprise architects and other stakeholders Delivering end-to-end solution architecture, from high-level design to proof-of-concepts and implementation Ensuring alignment with security and engineering standards Leading and mentoring technical teams through design and implementation Presenting solutions to stakeholders across the organisation Required technical experience: Proven experience architecting solutions using event hub technology such as Kafka Strong Java and object-oriented design background Experience with container platforms (e.g., OpenShift) and microservices architecture Exposure to Oracle , SQL Server , and general database design Working in regulated environments or financial market infrastructure Desirable: Familiarity with financial messaging standards (ISO 15022, ISO 20022) Exposure to IBM MQ , Angular , or HPE NonStop Knowledge of settlement systems or post-trade processes Agile experience Please note that due to the high volume of applications, we’re only able to respond to candidates who are shortlisted.
