The Role We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapists to work with children and young people up to the age of 18 years old, with a substantial and long-term physical or mental impairment Key Requirements Conducting high-quality occupational therapy assessments of need within the local authority's statutory responsibility. Performing assessments in the home environment for children and young people with complex disabilities. Identifying difficulties and exploring solutions through advice, information, provision of equipment, minor/major adaptations, and liaising with professionals from health and education sectors. Collaborating with wider organisations such as Housing organisations and Community Equipment Services Maximise the quality of life and increase independence for the children and young people we support. Enhance safety by providing specialist equipment and adaptations, and supporting parents and carers in their roles. Moving and Handling - (offering low-level advice to complex moving and handling, including hoisting, sling assessments, in bed turning and slide sheet systems, single-handed care) Knowledge of neurodiverse conditions / behaviour management, safety equipment / recommendations Skills & Experience To be fully qualified and registered with the HCPC Motivation and adaptability. The ability to work independently and autonomously as well as part of a team. Organisational skills to manage your own workload. Excellent communication skills to liaise with families, children, young people, and other professionals. If you thrive to make a difference and have experience then we would love to hear from you.
