Scada Engineer (Solar PV) – Construction Industry

We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable contractor seeking a SCADA Engineer to join their Control Systems team in Johannesburg . This is a full-time, permanent position suited to an energetic professional with 3 years of experience in SCADA system design, programming, and commissioningespecially in solar PV and grid-tied energy systems. Requirements: National Diploma or Bachelors in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering. At least 3 years of SCADA experience in solar PV or renewable projects. Proven experience in PPC configuration and commissioning (Siemens, Schneider, DEIF, etc.). Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming (TIA Portal, EcoStruxure, Codesys). Solid understanding of Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA. Familiar with grid-tied logic and system-level control schematics. Willingness to travel for site work and system commissioning. Developing specifications and concept designs for SCADA components and system architecture. Reviewing and integrating third-party SCADA systems with overall plant control systems. Configuring Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and ensuring compliance with utility grid codes. Experience in hybrid or BESS systems is a plus. Contact RPO Recruitment for our next career opportunity.
