Mechanical Engineer (Fire) – Consulting Industry

An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer (Fire Services) with strong fire compliance and building services experience in Cape Town Requirements : BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services. Minimum 5 years' experience in fire safety system design. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to take on challenging projects. Either professionally registered with ECSA or keen to pursue registration. Develop fire safety and fire compliance designs for building projects. Design firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurisation, and sprinkler systems. Apply SANS deemed-to-satisfy and rational design principles. Engage in thermal modelling (advantageous but not required). Independently manage small to medium-scale projects, or work as part of the fire design management team on larger projects. Professionally represent the company in client and site meetings, and during building surveys. Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and general project administration.
