Job Family Finance Career Stream Accounting Leadership Pipeline Manage Self: Professional Job Purpose To provide technical accounting oversight on complex financial activities through consulting, advising and guiding the stakeholders. To educate stakeholders on appropriate application of tools, techniques, policies and approaches to financial management, control, analysis and planning. Job Responsibilities To provide technical accounting guidance on the application of IFRS to new products and transactions. To provide accurate, reliable and timeous financial input to enable effective decision making through proactive engagement with stakeholders. Interpret and assess the impact of new and amended IFRS in the Groups financial reporting. Be a centre of excellence in reviewing the annual to be published financial information for Nedbank Group through proactive engagement with stakeholders including drafting and maintaining accounting policies. Support the preparation of the Groups financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Improve personal capacity and stay abreast of IFRS and industry specific developments impact financial reporting by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers. Increase awareness and compliance through training and awareness sessions for finance teams and relevant stakeholders. Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders through regular stakeholder meetings and feedback sessions. Provide insights with regards to financial analysis, application of policies, standards and future standards by engaging with stakeholder. Understand stakeholders' needs in order to provide value added and timeous technical advice and service through ongoing consultation. Build trusting and collaborative professional relationships within own department through open communication. Ensure accurate and compliant reporting by implementing and ensuring adherence to the necessary processes and procedures. Ensure data integrity by providing advice on system changes. Identify possible risk areas through compliance tracking. Evaluate financial statements and ensures regulatory compliance through stakeholder engagements. Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced, and certifications obtained. Enable skilling and required corrective action to take place by sharing knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction. Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.). Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy. Essential Qualification CA(SA) Essential Certifications SAICA Minimum Experience Level 5 - 7 years experience in technical accounting, preferably in the banking or financial services environment with at least 3 years in senior roles.
